Check out this photography series by Ayqa Khan titled the “FOB Series,” where the artist explores the “essence of foreigners in America by primarily focusing on color contrast, props and style.” The series uses quirky graphics to depict how we tend to judge immigrants as ridiculous because they don’t fit into the norms of Americanized identities.

Khan also depicts the relationship between South Asian beauty rituals such as tweezing, which are often viewed as rigorous or painful. With her photos, Khan attempts to portray these rituals in a positive light.
