Everyone’s favorite brown boy is back! Breakout star of The Daily Show, comedian Hasan Minhaj will have his own weekly show on Netflix.
It’s not clear yet what Minhaj’s show will be about, but there’s no doubt we’ll be treated to deep dives into race, culture, and more as we’ve seen with the comedian so far. Netflix has already ordered 32 episodes which will start airing this year.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Netflix family as the country braces for another election season — and like you, I cannot wait to find out who Putin picks this time,” Minhaj said in a statement Thursday.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minhaj produced the pilot himself and set off a heated bidding war that included Comedy Central.
After his Netflix special Homecoming King, Minhaj has set the tone for critical story-telling among first among second generation South Asian-Americans. We’re looking forward to kicking back with his newest project.
