M.I.A. And Zayn To Appear On Track Together

The Desi Music Collaboration Gods are smiling down on us today.

In everything that is good and decent and brown, we have been gifted with the mother of all South Asian collaborations — M.I.A. and Zayn Malik will be on a track together.

Their track, “Freedun,” will appear on M.I.A.’s upcoming album A.I.M., which is set to be released September 9.

M.I.A. told EW they wrote the song together remotely, “We’ve just been going back and forth on, you know, WhatsApp.”

Is that not the brownest thing you’ve ever heard? They musta swapped a few “click this may your dreams come true” memes. You know, like we do.

The two apparently came together somewhere other than their monthly Desi Illuminati meeting — M.I.A. was supposed to write some songs for Zayn but ended up adding him to the roster of featured artists for her new album.

Whatever brought these two pop-culture demigods together, I’m here for it.
